“Many thanks for yet another wonderful week at CYB. It's easy to forget how many times we've been but it must be at least twenty since you took over and expanded the cottages. We have stayed in every one and enjoyed them all. What is so impressive (and not common with holiday cottages) is the consistently high level of cleanliness, warmth and friendliness. The holidays always recharge our batteries (sometimes by solar power, sometimes by wind power) but we always return feeling happy and healthy.

The location is superb - a five minute walk down the lane and you are on the edge of the Menai Strait (or in it at very high tides) with a view across to the mainland that ranges from the Great Orme in the east to the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula in the west - the whole of Snowdonia. On our last visit snow fell overnight on the mountains and down to a low level and the sun shone the next morning. A fantastic vista but impossible to convey in a photograph.

It is worth mentioning how great winter breaks are - the weather tends to skim over the island as it is so low and then breaks on the mainland mountains, often leaving Anglesey in sunshine with views of impressive cloudscapes over Snowdonia. Walking on Newborough Beach / Llanddwyn Island / Malltraeth Bay or Rhosneigr Beach on a winter's day (in warm clothing) can be magical and you certainly won't have any cobwebs left when you return to your cottage.

So many thanks for so many superb, quality holidays and, needless to say, we shall return.”

On arrival, as always we were greeted with a very warm welcome by Annmarie and Matthew, cottage was extremely clean throughout and we felt right at home as we always do. Our daughter had so much fun feeding the animals and utilising the games room with other children as well as the playground. Great surroundings and beautiful views. “We have thoroughly enjoyed many holidays here and for very good, legitimate reasons:
The properties are kept meticulously clean and very well kempt.
The hosts, Annmarie and Matthew are excellent; always there to assist if necessary, or ensure someone is if they are out. They provide a wonderful welcome - and farewell when the time comes.
The facilities provided for all guests, like the small play area, football green, the animals and the games room are great, especially the games room if the weather is not so good. you can even get a DVD or two from there to watch back at the ranch!
For us, this is the best location in Anglesey, as you are a few minutes saunter away from the Menai, (great to see in it's ever-changing state); 10 to 15 minute drive from Newborough Forest and The Warren, a stone's throw form the Sea Zoo, Foel Farm and Anglesey Sea Salt venue, and fantastic views over to Snowdon and it's mountain range. And, this is especially so from the little balcony on the outside of the bedroom in Yr Eifl Cottage.
To summarise, it is just so nice, the place, the people and the opportunities it provides.
And, this is why we are long-serving guests, as it is home from home. You must try it!!!”

“There aren’t enough words to describe how special Cerrig y Barcud is to us. We have holidayed here for many years now and never tire of any part of it, whether that be the location, the things to see and do nearby or the cottages themselves. They are all truly fantastic!

From the coziness, to the cleanliness, to the warmth from Matt and Annmarie on arrival, there is everything and more you could possibly wish for here. Nothing is ever too much for Matt and Annmarie, they are the most wonderful hosts and are truly special people.

The cottages have everything you need, the games room and lawn at the front aka in my sons word - the football pitch, is brilliant for the children, as is the play area and space to feed the ponies and goats. At the end of a day of adventure they always look forward to coming back to the cottages to see the friends they’ve made and play outside. Which to us says it all. There is also an electric car charging point which is so convenient and a laundry room should you wish to use it during your stay. DVDs and books can be borrowed from the games room too. There is so much to do nearby without even needing to use a car - the sea zoo and farm are both just down the road as is the Halon Man salt factory, or simply just a walk down to the Menai Straits is stunning. There is plenty to see elsewhere too, we have barely
scratched the surface

We always have the best time when we come, we never actually want to leave and always always look forward to coming back. There is nothing like stepping through the front door of the cottage and feeling instantly relaxed and at ease.

I would recommend cerrig y barcud to everyone, whether you have children or are a couple coming to explore or for some r&r. Everyone is very respectful of each other and very friendly.
Me and my husband began coming here before we had children and knew this is where we would holiday as a family in the future. There is a cottage sized for everyone here which is brilliant.

Also got to mention the views and sunset too, breathtaking. We love coming to our ‘home away from home’ and are already looking forward to being back - we have such fond memories and look forward to making so many more. Thank you for everything!”

“We are staying in Y wyddfa cottage (a lovely 3 bed 2 bathroom cottage) with our two grandsons 5 and 7 at Cerrig y Barcud holiday cottages during October half term. After a 300 mile journey we were greeted by the very lovely Anne Marie who was not phased by the boys emerging the car like two little banshees..😬 The cottage is beautifully maintained and has everything we need.We have stunning views and the boys love being next to the games room and being able to feed the goats.. There is so much to do and see in the vicinity that there hasn’t been a dull moment. Having a food delivery to the cottage on the Saturday night was so useful, but there are supermarkets a few miles away in Bangor. The boys love it so much that they asked if they could come here again and so it looks like we will be coming back July 2024 as well. This is not just a beautiful place for children though… We as a couple would definitely come back as I had forgotten how absolutely beautiful Anglesey is and without the boys, it would be a fantastically relaxing break.😬 .. but without doubt it is the genuine warmth that Anne Marie and Matthew exude that make these holiday cottages a very special place to stay…”

“We have stayed at Crib Goch for the last few years. It is such a magical place and we have had a wonderful time each time we stay here. Our children love going out to one of the many local attractions and they are so excited to come back later in the day as they can play football or with the frisbee on the large lawns or feed the ponies and goats. They have loved playing outside in the grounds with the other children on holiday too or in the games room. The cottages are always lovely and clean and very comfortable. The views are beautiful too. “Another amazing week at a Cerrig cottage. This time it was Yr Eifl, but to be honest we've stayed in pretty almost all of them by now. I love the balcony Yr Eifl has off the main bedroom, and though we don't actually need the 3rd bedroom, we definitely find being able to sit there in the evening with a glass of wine and look out over the stunning view of Snowdonia is definitely worth it!

The cottage was impeccably clean and well furnished as always, and we noticed many new improvements since the last time we stayed. What impressed us most though was how much care and attention has been taken to ensure guests feel Covid-safe yet still have a comfortable stay. Each cottage has always had its own private outdoor area, a feature even more valuable these days. The laundry facilities are spotless and a god-send with a 9 year old mud-puppy of a son!

Annmarie and Matt will always go out of their way to help guests with any issues or concerns. There couldn't possibly be better hosts. They have watched our son grow up over the years and I have no doubt we'll still be coming to Cerrig after our son has children of his own.”
